During Term 2 2010 we had a vist from a Kiwi that has been in a bird shelter!
For many students and teachers, it was the first time they had experienced touching a Kiwi!
What an amazing experience!

    Great question - there is a lovely book in the MBIS library to answer your question! (Maori Legend)

    The Kiwi is a very humble bird, he gave up his wings so he could save the forest.
